A Letter To God

Dear God,

In my short life here on earth, I’ve asked for a lot of things.  I know I have.  And the truth is, you’ve been more than good to me.   However, nothing I’ve asked for is more important than the words in this letter.  So, here’s what I need you to do for me …

Untap my potential to the fullest.  Position me in the right places to educate me, to train, to equip me and to sharpen my skills.  Strategically assign my acquaintances.  Hand-pick my friends and don’t let me marry the wrong person.

Erase my inabilities and cause my abilities to match Your Design.    And like Jacob, I won’t let you go until you bless me.  I won’t let you go until you redefine me.   I refuse to be known by my past – as “the one that can’t be trusted, the one that was locked up for murder, the one that was strung out on crack, the lady with the issue of blood, that girl with all those kids, the guy that can’t keep a job or the lady whose husband almost killed her.”   No!  I will not be defined by my circumstances.  I need you to redefine me.

Therefore, I will persist until I understand my purpose.  I will chase after You until I understand my mission and understand my assignment!   I refuse to live a mediocre life.  I must hear You say well done at the conclusion of this life.

So Father, whatever you got to do  –  don’t let me rest until Your will is clear and Your will is done in and through this earthen vessel.

Bottom-line …  I’m completely yours!

Thanking you in advance – In Jesus’ name!

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (1 John 5:14-15)
