It’s a new year and “Tuesdays with Bianca” is taking on a new look! You like?! I hope you do but even if youchores don’t I know that it’s not about that. You want to know what I have to say. Why do I deserve this platform and what am I going to do with it? Well it’s simple, I’m going to share what God places on my heart with a pure heart to uplift, inspire, and transform lives for the better. However He sees fit for me to do that then I’m all in!

I talk a lot about God’s purpose for your lives. I’m an unrelenting advocate for people finding theirs and moving on it, but what I’ve come to realize is that the word “purpose” is becoming cliche. People have heard it so much that they turn a deaf ear to it unknowingly. It’s such a simple, yet huge word and it can be daunting to think about. It’s also often positioned as something that we have to seek out and find. Though there’s truth to that, it can give the impression that it’s a possibility we may miss it in our lifetime for whatever reason. Although I love the word “purpose” I’m going to erase that from my vocabulary this year for one reason only… to reach those that either fear or reject it. From this day forward, I’m going to talk only about your assignment.

The dictionary defines “assignment” as: A position or post of duty to which one is assigned. A transfer of a claim, right, interest, or property from one to another.

militaryIf you were to enlist in the armed forces you would be assigned to a superior who would assign you various duties that would benefit the overall mission. Even bigger, you’d be assigned to specific area across the world to serve out your duties. If you’ve ever been a part of any class, your teacher has given you assignments that are expected to be completed by a certain date. As children, your parents may have assigned each child a different chore that would benefit the household. In every instance, the assignment is something that is given to you freely. It’s not something you ask for or have to seek out to find, you simply had to submit yourself under the authority of another person.

Let me share with you that when you submitted your life to God, He gave you an assignment. Yes, He had the assignment ready for you well before you were even conceived but it isn’t until you submit to His will that it will be revealed. You were placed on this earth with an assignment that was predestined. Seek God first and it will be revealed to you. You don’t have to chase after it, you have to chase Jesus. You don’t have to worry about missing the mark if your focus is on your relationship with Jesus. The moment you take your eye off the planner and focus on the plan is where you are sure to get off track.

Knowing you’re on assignment, gives you a sense of urgency. You feel responsible for something. You have a duty and obligation to complete it. You may even feel pressure, which is a good thing. God has given you a post. You have a duty to fulfill and it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with His people. So take up your post, seek instruction from God, and watch how every dream you could never imagine comes true!

Love, Bianca
